[en] Use the Overlay tool to place reporting snippets (maps, text, images, etc.) on top of one another.

[en] For example, you can use this tool to have a map image with a title across the top, a legend positioned on the bottom right, and a logo on the bottom left.

[en] Configure the Tool

  1. [en] BaseField: The base field is the main reporting snippet. Overlay fields are placed on top of the Base Field.

  2. [en] OverlayFields: Use the dropdowns in the desired positions where you would like to overlay other snippets.

  3. [en] Specify the Padding (in.) in which the overlay objects are placed relative to the Base field. The default is 0.5 inches from the top, bottom, left, and right.

    [en] If DefaultDistanceUnits in User Settings > Localization is set to kilometers, this field is calculated in millimeters (mm). Go to Localization for more information.

  4. [en] Include Source Fields in Output: When checked, all snippet fields are output. This check box is unchecked, by default, and outputs only the resulting Overlay snippet.
