Chat with Alteryx Copilot in a natural and conversational way to assist you with building your workflows. Alteryx Copilot uses Generative AI to analyze your current workflow for tailored recommendations. Alteryx Copilot can even add preconfigured tools to the canvas for you. Copilot-Designer Compatibility
Warning
If you’ve previously downloaded and installed Alteryx Copilot, we strongly recommend that you upgrade to the latest version of Copilot due to a compatibility issue between older versions of Copilot and Alteryx Designer 2025.1.
If you don't upgrade or remove Copilot before you install Designer 25.1, you will encounter an Unhandled Exception error message when you open Designer. At times, it can also appear as if Designer is hanging during startup with an error message rendered behind the Designer splash screen.
If you can move past the above errors, you might encounter issues with tool configuration settings in Designer tools.
If you upgrade to Designer 25.1 before upgrading Copilot, you will need to manually uninstall Copilot to resolve the above errors (and then install the latest version). To manually uninstall Copilot, follow the Uninstall Copilot instructions.
