Parameters Page
The Parameters page allows you to create and manage parameters. Parameters let you apply dynamic values to certain fields via the Output Data tool—they are available for use with all file-based connectors.
Create Parameters
Use the Parameters page to create new Parameters for use in AAC.
To create a parameter, select the + New button at the top of the page.
Select a parameter Type*. Currently, the String parameter type is the only option.
Astuce
*An additional parameter type (Timestamp) is available directly via the Output Data tool. You can use the Timestamp parameter to automatically populate the File Name with a formatted timestamp of the job execution. For details, go to Output Data tool.
Enter a parameter Name. This is what shows when you use the parameter in AAC.
Enter a Description. This should be something clear that will help you and other users in the future.
Enter a Default value for the parameter. This value is used if the parameter is not dynamically updated.
Select Create to create the parameter and add it to the file name or Close to abandon this process.
Manage and Edit Parameters
The Parameters page also allows you to edit or update any existing parameters you've created. The Parameters list displays all available parameters, including the parameter Name, Description, Owner, and Default Value. To edit an existing parameter...
Locate the parameter that you want to edit in the list.
Select the 3-dot menu associated with the parameter and select Edit.
Update the Description and Default value fields as needed. Note that you can't update the parameter type and name after it's been created.
Select Save to finish.
Delete Parameter
To delete existing parameters...
Select the 3-dot menu associated with the parameter and select Delete.
Review the pop-up confirmation message and select the Delete button to finish. This action can't be undone.
Use Parameters
Currently, you can use Parameters when you configure your Output Data tool to output to file-based connectors.
For detailed instructions, go to Output Data Tool.
Notes and Limitations
At this time, parameters are available only via the File Name field in the Output Data tool (in Designer Cloud). Additionally, currently, parameter types are limited to String and Timestamp (which can be created directly in the Output Data tool, via the File Name field).
