Broadcasted Mission FAQ

1.

What is changing with Broadcast Missions?

All existing and newly created missions are now treated as assets in Auto Insights. This change improves discoverability and enables sharing through User Groups in Alteryx One.

You must manually migrate broadcasted missions because they aren't automatically converted to assets.

2.

What should I do if I have Broadcast Missions?

To migrate and share your broadcast missions properly:

  1. Go to Workspace Settings and create the User Group to share the Mission after it's migrated.

  2. Go to the Missions home page in Auto Insights, and select Migrate Mission next to each broadcast Mission you want to convert.

  3. After migration, select Share in the notification at the bottom left of the screen to share the Mission with the User Group you created in Step 1.

Alternatively, go to the Library page and search for the mission name in the Reports and Missions tab under Auto Insights to share it later.

3.

Can newly created Missions still be broadcast?

No. Broadcasting is no longer supported for any Missions, including newly created ones. All new missions are treated as library assets, and you must share them through User Groups.

4.

Are broadcast Missions still considered assets?

No. Broadcast missions are the only Missions that aren't yet assets. You must manually migrate them to convert them into library assets.

5.

What happens after I convert a Broadcast Mission?

  • It becomes a library asset.

  • It appears in Alteryx One.

  • You can share it through User Groups.

  • You can no longer broadcast it.

6.

Can I still broadcast a Mission after converting it to an Asset?

No. After you migrate a Broadcast Mission to a library asset, broadcasting is no longer available for that Mission.

7.

Do I need to migrate Missions that weren't broadcast?

No. All non-broadcast missions, including newly created ones, are already assets and don't require migration.

8.

Who can perform the migration?

Only the mission owner or a workspace admin can manually migrate broadcast missions.

9.

What happens if I do nothing with my Broadcast Missions?

  • Broadcast missions won't appear in the Alteryx One library.

  • You may lose discoverability and control over access.

10.

Will the Broadcast Mission get deleted?

No. Your broadcast Mission won’t be deleted automatically.

11.

What if I don't have any groups created in AAC yet?

That's okay. You can create groups later and share the Mission when they're available.

12.

What should I know if I have multiple workspaces or multiple Broadcast Missions?

  • You must migrate each Broadcast Mission individually from its respective workspace.

  • User Groups are specific to each workspace, so you’ll need to recreate them in every workspace where you want to share migrated Missions.

  • Coordinate with your Workspace Admins to restore sharing after migration.
