Get Started with App Builder

App Builder is a new and evolving product available with the Alteryx Analytics Cloud Platform. Functionality is subject to change without notice as we continue to refine and enhance your experience. App Builder enables anyone to build interactive web apps powered by Alteryx Analytics Cloud, all without writing a single line of code.

First-Time User Experience and Guided Tours

First-time users see a new dialog on the landing page with two options to help them get started with App Builder:

  • Product Tour: Select Product Tour to view a 4-step WalkMe tour of App Builder.

  • Demo Video: Select Demo Video to view a demonstration of how to build an app in App Builder.

Select X to close the dialog and view the main landing page of App Builder.

Users who do not have any apps in their current workspace see two links on the landing page:

  • Product Overview Tour: Select Product Overview Tour to view a 4-step WalkMe tour of App Builder.

  • Build Your First App: Select Build Your First App to view an 8-step WalkMe tour on how to build an app in App Builder.

When users close any of the tours, a final pop-up displays that points to the help menu, where users can find more resources. Users can access additional resources at any time from multiple locations, including the right-side resources pane on the landing page and the help menu, both on the landing page and within the app.

Create New App

To create a new app, select + New App.

Example Applications

Example applications open a fully orchestrated and designed app for a particular use case to help new App Builder users understand how to build their own app. Go to Access Example Applications for more information on example applications.

My Applications

The My Applications section of the homepage shows all of the apps that you've created or interacted with recently. Each app in the list contains details about it, such as when it was created, when it was last updated, and if and when it was published. Select the 3-dot menu to rename or delete your app. You can also preview your app by selecting the eye icon, which opens a preview of your app in a new window.

To open an app, select it from the list.
