Enterprise Utilities

  • Customer Managed Telemetry: Customer Managed Telemetry (CMT) allows you to track the workflows and tools in use throughout your organization. It requires setup on the machine that runs Designer to access the log files and telemetry data. This workflow gathers the necessary files and compiles them into easy-to-read visualizations in Tableau and Power BI. You can customize the workflow to output in other formats if needed.

  • Server Usage Report: Use the Server Usage Report to understand metrics for users, apps, permissions, schedules, and jobs so that you can quickly assess any issues with performance, auditing, and compliance. Connect to your MongoDB and Server API to extract pertinent data and analytics from your Alteryx Server easily. Choose your preferred output, including: Tableau Dashboard, Separate files, Database, or use the macro outputs for downstream processes.

  • Server User Management Enterprise Utility: This utility is designed to help you manage Alteryx Server users.

    • Active Directory Sync: Use this workflow to sync updates from Active Directory (AD) to your Alteryx Server. Check if AD groups exist in Server and create them if needed. You can also add or remove Alteryx Server users from User Groups based on their AD groups.

    • Get User Assets: Use the Get User Assets macro to collect the information needed to pass into the Transfer Assets tool.

    • Transfer Assets: Use the Transfer Assets tool to change ownership of Server UI assets from one user to another.

  • Workflow Migration: The Workflow Migration Enterprise Utility demonstrates how you can leverage Alteryx Designer, Server APIs, and the new Server API tool for remote workflow migration. Auditing examples display the checks required to meet your organization's workflow standards. Since every organization is different, you should customize this workflow according to your organization’s unique makeup and requirements, as the workflow doesn't account for every consideration.
